Blockprinting is an ancient tradition of India, initially done with
natural dyes in these modern times many printers use pigment
inks. This allows a larger range of colour choices for the
customers delight and assurance of permanent colours. We work
with a local family to produce a range of colour co-ordinated fat
quarter packs with the modern quilter in mind....these same fabric
would work very well in garments and for interior design. Do
enquire if you would like larger quantities of fabric.

India could easily be described as the land of endless variety, this
is certainly true when looking at silks saris, there seems to be an
never ending variety in colours, designs, textures; some soft,
some crisp, some smooth, some textured, hand printed, machine
printed, hand loomed, machine loomed, pigment dyed, natural
dyed and, and, and....Typically each sari has a ground colour or
pattern, often a fancy border along the length and a fancier
Palou [part that goes over your shoulder]- a combination of 2
saris will produce about 40 squares, no two are exactly alike
because of the variables in the sari cloth. Add to that lots of hand
stitch- all carefully done and as individual as handwriting...
